Outings, Rambling, “Ambling”, and Coffee Mornings.

All five branches arrange outings/holidays, – the latter usually related to a specific activity. Within the larger “Central” branch these tend to be organised by individual groups for “luncheon dances”, to “Potters” for bowling, or just a whole group going off for a “Turkey & Tinsel” break near Christmas.

The other branches are better organised, and plan and publish their intentions for days out across the whole branch.

If you’d like to join in, or have a programme, contact:

  • Ruth Jobson (0121 603 2638) for Fordbridge & Chemlesly Wood,
  • Norman Richards (0121 258 4135) for Kingshurst,
  • June Weight (0121 747 4653) for Castle Bromwich,
  • Or Frank Byrne (01676 532 537) For Heart of England ( Balsall Common).

FIRS have two rambling groups and a slightly less arduous “Ambling” section (who usually find an ale house along their route).

The Ramblers plan their itineraries not too far ahead, due to the vagaries of the British climate. So call Dorothy Randle (0121 246 3897) for the “Central” Ramblers, or Jean Lewis-Hod (01676 533 501) for the Heart of England Ramblers, and Angela Keedwell (01676 535 237) “Amblers”.

Heart of England Branch also hold monthly coffee mornings at Balsall Common Jubilee Centre (3rd Fridays, 10-12)
