What We Do

FIRS is a Solihull organisation, providing educational and recreational activities for the over 50’s of the borough who have time to spare on weekdays. It has been running for over 40 years, has 4 branches, and over 1000 members. FIRS is entirely self supporting, and provides 57 daytime activity sessions each week in 19 venues.

Each group runs almost autonomously under its leader, with support from a Branch committee. We are all volunteers, and being frugal, keep annual membership to just £3, with session fees starting at just £2 (to pay hall hires). We are a non-profit charity and exist solely to entertain our members. We are apolitical, non racial, and primarily intent in enjoying each other’s company whilst staying active.
